Prelude totally. It's a real "sports" car whereas the beetle is simply not. also it looks waaayyyy better imo.

If you want to make your boyfriend look gay while riding/driving your car the Betle is definetly the car for you! lol, In all honesty, the Prelude is the much better choice hands down. Reliability, Resale value, horespower, and in looks (just my opinion). Did you know that the beetle is assembled in MEXICO, not germany! As all preludes are built in japan or the USA. just my 2 cents. good luck car hunting.

Which is better?Depends on what you like.The Prelude is statistically more reliable and has better handling than the Beetle. It's probably faster too unless that is a Beetle S or a tweaked 1.8T turbo.If you are 6 foot 7 than the Beetle has a lot more headroom. The Beetle is probably a little safer in an accident.If the Beetle is a TDI then it gets about twice the MPG the Prelude does.Like I said, it depends. As far an a performance car, the Prelude is going to be take more seriously, it has the better suspension and a more accurate shifting transmission, but both are FWD cars and real enthusaists drive RWD or AWD so both are really just sporty grocery getters when you get down to it.If you're trying to choose one for yourself to drive/buy then I would say compare insurance costs for each. If the Beetle is a TDI and you drive alot or want the best mileage around, go for the Beetle.In pretty much every other case, I'd steer you towards the Prelude.
