I am thinking about getting a used 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid car. When I went CarMax.Com to do some research. I see two trim styles. One is VTEC and the other is Hybrid. What is the difference between the two? Also, if you own a Hybrid car, do you bring it in to a regular (ASE Certified) auto mechanic or do you need to bring it in to your dealer for servicing? Thanks.

The 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid does have a VTEC engine. There is only one trim, but two different emissions levels. I have attached the linc for the specs. In terms of where you take it for service, your best bet is the dealership. The main reason is that you can seriously hurt yourself and the vehicle if you do not have experience with the Hybrid technology.
