Depends on what your plans are for the car. Are you talking about engine performance? Suspension performance? Braking performance? I will assume you are talking about accelerating faster, which is what most people want to do. Again, depending on what your plans are for the car, you could buy a good cone filter and make your own intake for under $50. Spend a couple hundred more on an aftermarket header, and either an ebay special exhaust, or have something custom fabbed up at the local exhaust shop. You could gain around 10hp to the wheels. Or, if you just want to go fast right now, pick up a nitrous oxide kit and get 50hp to your wheels relatively safely.

Assuming your talking about acceleration. Go with an AEM cold air intake. They run for about $200 brand new which is a lil steep compared 2 the ebay china made products, but the aem will keep you street legal (Come's with CARB #'s on intake) and comes with a K&N filter that can be cleaned and reused for the life of your car. DC headers will also give you some much needed torq for that 1.6 liter single slam motor and will keep you street legal (has carb #'s also) Ceramic coated DC headers new will run you about $299. Both of these mods combined should be good for about 10whp. Check out craigslist.org or recycler.com and you might be able 2 find them used for about half the price! hope this helps.

Use that money for the suspension or rims and tiresBuying an intake and exhaust will only give you about 5-7 extra horespower. That is not enough to make a noticable difference.Plus, you would be best off swaping engines later down the road. Putting a B-series engine into your CRX will really make it quick. You dont want to buy an intake and exhaust that won't be compatable with your swapped engine.Invest that $500 into the suspension before anything else.

All of the above sound like decent options. You could also have a custom cam made.-d
