Many states have multiple plates to choose from. WV for example has multiple plates (i.e. hunting, nature, 9/11, etc.).I am not certain, but I believe that the MI Sec. of State will be sending the new plates out in July.Hope that helps.

Actually Michigan has 3 license plates, the one is the traditional blue plate with white lettering, one with the sun rising over the Mackinac Bridge, and the other one is a white plate kinda like the sunrise, except has an old model T Ford on it. I don't know what is up with this, probably someone in the prisons don't have nothing better to do so they just come up with different designs. As far as the new plates that are coming out in '07 I am unaware of, but when you renew your tags, they could send you one if you do so desire. You can do all this either by mail or the net. I hope this answers your question better.

Actually, yes. Other states do have more than one license plate. Wisconsin has a few. Maybe it's not the official Wisconsin plate like you're speaking of with the Michigan plates. You can order the regular Wisconsin plate or choose. At the DMV there is a whole wall of plates to choose from. I've seen a lot of people with Yellow plates and green lettering for the green bay packers (eww). As for getting your new plates.. I don't know. In WI we always get the new expiration date stickers sent in the mail and all we do is stick them on.. or so I think. I'm new at this plate thing.
