Remove the old battery, and take it to a parts store such as Auto Zone and get the correct one for the vehicle. When you remove the old battery, remove the ground (-) first, and then the positive (+) cable. When you install the new battery, hook up the positive first (+), and then the negative (-) cable. This is the safe way to do it without shorting something out. Before you install the new battery, make sure everything is turned off in the car. You will get a small spark when you connect the positive cable and this is normal, but if it is a pretty bad spark, then you may have something still on such as the sound system. If not, then you might suspect a short somewhere in the vehicle. A car that has a completely dead battery will not jump off. Unless you can charge the battery some, the vehicle will not start at all, and this is normal with a dead battery. You can try hooking the jumper cables to the car, and let it charge the battery for about 5-10 minutes before you try to crank the engine, and if the battery is any good at all, it should start right away, if not the battery is totally shot, and will have to be replaced before the engine will start.Glad I could help you. Good Luck!!!
