I was wondering how all those car parts work on cars, such as twin turbo, supercharger, if theres such thing as a 24 valve engine, what it does, and other stuff that someone should know if they want to mod their car. If somone could help me with, I would greaty appreciate this. What are some good cars to mod too? I'm mainly looking for a japanese made car probably a honda, acura, mitsubishi, toyota or a suburu. I most likely will get a honda :P

This is a great site that I found for figuring out how things work. It has tons of info on car parts for you noob's out there...just type in words like supercharger, engine, whatever...and it has great diagrams that explain it to you.

Well, I would tell you how all the parts on a car work, but there isn't enough space to write it. If you don't know anything about cars I wouldn't recommend getting taught here. I have seem some pretty stupid advice on some of these questions.Superchargers and Turbo chargers are air compressorssuperchargers use the serpentine belt system to pump air turbochargers use the exhaust to pump airThere is such thing as a 24 valve engine. 6 cylinder 4 valves each or 8 cylinder 3 valves each.Jap cars are the easiest to tune on account of the massive aftermarket that follows all of them. A Subaru STI is a pretty sweet car out of the box. Capable of massive power gains with well placed bolt-ons and proper tuning. Same for most of the others you mentioned.Take my advice and buy a car and take it apart. That is truly the only way you will learn. Or at least get a car and start with the basics: intakes, pulleys sh*t like that.If you still need some clarification then feel free to email me.

turbo is run by exuast gas pushing a turbine( exuast is the stuff you see coming out the rear of the car, thru that pipe.) then the turbine pushed by the exuast gas pushes another turbine on the other side of the turbo that creates a air flow to a throttle( thing that connects to the air filter box), but twin turbo is the same thing except there are 2 turbos( it can be in the same throttle or there would be one on each throttle) (some cars have only one throttle(EX: civic, s2000, camry), and some have 2 throttles(EX: s14, s15(s15 japan only))A supercharger runs on a engine belt instead of exuast( means no lagg in engine resonce) but a supercharger still uses a turbine to force air into the enginegood choosing a import YAYtuning mods:1.cold air intakeOR turbocharger( if your gonna get a BIG turbo, not small, BIG, then you will have to rebuild your motor) OR supercharger2.suspention (tein)3.intercooler(if you choose turbo)(its a thing that cools the air before it goes into the engine=more power)4.exuast (you know... that thing that is behind, under the car that spits out smoke when its freezing cold outside)5.(optional) (ECS-Eletronic Cutout System) (it releases exuast to reduce pressure when header* turns into one pipe) ( oh it gives the car an extra few HP and makes it sound like a deep tone champcar)6. headers* (exuast thing)7.tires(grippy tires for racing, less grippy tires for Drifting) (you cant have a good car without something to backup the HP)8. a tuner that you connect directly to the computer of the car.9.gas10.oilk... this is getting stoopid....
