From what I have seen from others swapping is that the H22 motors are good, but are heavy and requires more work to fit them into the hatch. The type-R motors, assuming b18, are easy to install and fit into the original Civic motor mounts. The b18, I believe is the better solution from what I've see so far, but you may want to to go to: http://www.hondaforums.com/ for more answers.
