Default How can I get my 89 civic to pass DEQ?

My stupid 89 civic didn't pass DEQ. I guess it gives off too many hydrcarbons. How can i fix it so it will pass and how much would it probably cost?I was given a sheet telling me what might need to be fixed on my 89 civic to get it to pass:-Vacuum leak or malfunctioning vacuum device-Exhaust gas recirculation system malfunction or misadjustment- Carburator or fuel injection system malfunctioning-catalac converter not workingi need to know how much it would cost to get these fixed or any other ideas on how to get it to pass DEQ

What repairs does it need to pass? Tell us that and someone could give you an average cost for those repairs.

Well, one thing to do is to get your car to about an eighth of a tank of gas. Then pour about 3 or 4 bottles of rubbing alcohol into the gas tank and then drive it to the testing place. Make sure you drive it a couple of miles to get the alcohol and gas mixed and so that the alcohol gets in the engine.

Never EVER use anything that is not designed to be used on cars! Especially Isopropyl Alcohol! That will blow your engine up!
