what are the advantages of driving a hybrid car?

You look good in the eyes of the tree huggers. I have seen a few articles saying hybrids don't get anywhere near the mileage claimed and are worth nowhere near the additional purchase price. Maybe the next generation of hybrids will be practical.

there much cleaner to drive,and don't pollute the air as much,and there also very fuel efficient to drive also ,you can save a lot of money by driving one but the biggest advantage is your helping save the environment,and today that's helps a lot,but you,ll see a difference in your cost to operate also,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Not a great deal, in my opinion. You'll get better mileage from a diesel.Although the fact that you run on electric power around town is a massive plus point - although pedestrians won't hear you coming so you have to be even more observant than usual!

Saving money on gas if you primarily drive in the city. The extra cost of hybrids (batteries) will take 15 years to see the cost savings in fuel prices. If you have to replace batteries before the 15 it will delay the savings even longer. Look at the price difference between the Honda Accord or Civic and figure out your annual gas costs and figure the difference between gas mileage. Hybrids aren't worth the extra expense. Wait until diesel hybrids come out, then you'll see better savings in fuel consumption.

Advantages: Better gas mileage (in almost ALL cases) and lower emissions (better for the environment).Disadvantages: Higher demand for these cars CAN mean a higher purchase price, less selection and, possibly, a waiting list for a new hybrid. Battery replacement is always a concern for people looking at hybrids but has not been a problem so far. Honda warranties their hybrid batteries for 8 yrs. or 80k. The dealership I work in has replaced only one in all the years hybrids have been around and that was in an older Insight with well over 200k!
