Its a played out game! Dont people have any imagination anymore? Do what everyone else is doing! Listen man if you want to look like everyone else go head and slap you some rims, intake and exhaust...oooh dont forget the go fast stickers and play ball. Now me on the other hand if I was going to do it foreign I'd start with a inline 6 and turbo it up. My muscle car days are over considering a hopped 383,454,502 sucks alot of gas.

It's obvious that you're mind is set on a piece of shyt jap car, that everyone and there cousin thinks it's the fastest car to hit the streets of America. Truth be told, your dead wrong. R U going to tell me, you're going to take a 2 litre car dump 50'000 in the already junk car to make a woppin' 250 horse ? You can buy that stock of the lot for 12,000 now. I have a good friend with a 73 maro, with a 427 edelbrock motor, note, everything in the engine is Victor Edelbrock designes, He payed a total of 8,000 for the car. In 3rd gear out of 5 gears he can pull 170 mph then the front of the car lifts up, and he has to back out of it. Let's see you do that with a honda shytbox and 200,000.

Well I'd like to throw my two cents in on this one - and Kyle E, listen up.Firstly, the question is just asking for argument. That was the point. Those that fell for it - you are suckers. Why am I commenting? Because the real answer is that both sides are right and somebody needs to say so.Anybody can take $40 000 and make a car fast. That is - strictly talking sport compact vs the traditional American muscle car. The reason there is rivalry is that the cars get their 'fast' in different ways. The American muscle car is mostly based on displacement. "How big an engine can we throw in?" Displacement counts. It's cheap to design, and cheap to manufacture. The Mustang GT for example has a 4.6 litre engine in it and puts out 300 hp. That works out to about 65 hp per litre. This gives this car some clear punch by default when you step on the gas.The Japanese car is more about efficiency and engineering. "How much can we squeeze out of this engine and still keep it reliable." In this case, it's expensive to design, and expensive to manufacture. But what is the end product? The new Honda Civic SI produces 200 hp that comes from a *naturally aspirated* 2.0 litre power plant. That's 100 hp per litre. That's not an easy feat. Now how about we take used cars. I can go out and buy a '98 Mustang and put money into it and see what I can get. Or I can go out and buy a '98 Integra and put money into that and see what we get. Both cars will have their pros and cons, but if I may add some of my own bias into this: the integra will put out the same performance numbers but be lighter, use less gas, and be more reliable. Why will it put out the same numbers? Because the engineering put behind these engines allows a lot more abuse than the average domestic engine. In other words - forced induction (turbo). The Integra will be lighter because, hello? It's 2600lbs! Less gas because it's a four cylinder? And more reliable because it's actually engineered.FYI: Did anybody know that the large displacement v10 that was in the original viper was an old big block v8 that had two more cloned cylinders added on? And absolutely nothing more. That took a lot of brains. FYI: How about Ford? They bought Austin Martin and supplied the v12 found in that motor by using the same process. They took a v8 mold they had for an older vehicle and put two more cylinders on it. It's the *same* original block. FYI: General Motors? Who remembers the old Chevy Citation, also known as the Chevette? It had a 2.8 litre v6. When the Pontiac Sunbird was born they wanted a larger optional engine for it rather than just the four cylinder that was already in use. They took the Chevette's v6, bored the cylinders to 3.1 and threw it in. Granted, that's not so bad. Import manufacturers do that as well. But then comes the Oldsmobile Alero. They took that same v6 again and bored the cylinders to 3.4. They called it the 3400. Same '80's block, put into a 2000 model car. What were the output specifications of that engine? 200 hp from 3.4 litres? Where else is this engine used? If you have an Envoy, take a look under the hood. 3400 in big font. How about a G6? Take a look. You have an 80's engine. Did anybody know that the 3.2 litre engine found in the Acura TL (a division of Honda) produces 270 hp? That's the *standard* engine. Also naturally aspirated. Do a little of your own research. One final note to the asshat who goes by Kyle E. You think that a 2 litre can't make 250 hp? How about a 1.8 litre that makes 618. And do yourself a favor and use a dictionary and grammer guide before posting. Are you 9 years old? If that's too difficult, here's a more simple solution: STFU

I've seen Civics smoke Vettes out on I-95 in Miami. I've seen Civics launch to 60MPH in less than 3 seconds.Sochiro Honda started building engines for racing. And he won races in them too. That was about 4 decades ago. If anybody thinks that Honda's can't run then explain to me why companies like Chevy *bought* the rights to Honda's VTEC technology? So you can see the next Camaro with a VTEC badge attached to it.Muscle is dead lets face it. Bring on the tuning revolution.
