Mercedes makes the better car as far as ride, noise, and luxuries go, but the have been notoriously unreliable for a long time. For reliability, Honda is the superior car.

European cars tend to have poor reliability once they get older. My uncle bought an BMW M3 in 2004, he never really got problems with it until now. It's just the way European cars are made.

You know everytime I ask a mechanic about a good, reliable long-lasting vehicle, they all say the same thing~Honda. I had my Honda Accord (it was a 1990) until 2001 when it finally died. It had 400,000 miles on it. That was money well spent. As for mercedes, I wouldn't own something that Hitler owned himself. Good Luck!

Honda, in my opinion. I think Mercedes are overrated, build quality isn't what is used to be.For me, reliability is paramount. Being stuck at the side of the road is no fun at all, even in an expensive car.I've owned a Mitsubishi, Toyota and Suzuki. Every one of them has been a peach.

I think that the HONDA is better because it can give you more to the gallon, as well as it isn't all the extra money for repair, or maintenance. Plus it is a good racing car.

mercedes has things like ball bearings in the door hinges, etcthat makes it real smooth working and long lasting, but honda's are very carefully built, i was gonna compare an old mercedes to a new honda... like for $ cost and value, but the other answers have me rethinking

Honda, no question. I owned the original Civic, a yellow 1975 CVCC. I bought it with 200K miles on it, and it died after being wrecked with almost 300K miles on it. It got 60 mpg as long as I didn't go over 65 mph, and I paid little or nothing to insure it.Mercedes?? Expensive, unreliable. They may "look" good, and the performance has gotten much bettter in the last several years, but it's just too much money to spend. Wayyy too much. Go with Honda.
