I have a 97 honda civic and the other night it worked fine. The next day, however, it wouldn't start! It keep trying to, but it just wouldn't crank. I know it's not the battery and I know it's getting fuel. I don't think it's just not getting a spark. What do I need to do to fix the problem?

If you are not getting spark I bet it has to do with your distributor. In this model, there is usually an igniter inside the distributor, when it burns out the car will not fire.You will also want to get a new distributor cap and rotor if you have not replaced these recently.Other options would be a bad coil (pretty unlikely-your shop manual will tell you how to test the coil) or deteriorated wiring in the ignition system. My bet is the igniter....good luck.Mike

Do the cheapest thing first and get some new spark plugs in it. If that doesnt work, chack the plug wires and make sure they are all connected correctly. If it started perfectly fine yesterday its a little strange that it wont start today. Probly something small. If this is not what it is or you want to chat hondas my sn is Horseybabe1990 (yahoo)

if this has a distributer check the pickup coil if it has a coil pack change the ignition module or take the coil pac off and have it tested so your not buying alot of parts stores wont take electronics back if they have been installed on a car

replace plugs and wires..distributor cap and rotor...
