Default How do you replace the clock light on a '98 Honda Civic?

Hi there, i own a '98 Honda Civic 1.5i vetec, R registration. my dash board clock light suddenly went out, and now i cannot read the time at night, as it is no longer illuminated. i have got a quote from the dealer and they say it will cost £40 to replace a light at the back of the clock. i am sure that it can be replaced yourself. please can somebody help me by giving me instructions on how to replace it. thanks.Hi leroy, i am unclear on how to remove the clock. can you please instruct me on how to remove the clock. i can see 2 ridges, one under the hazard light button, and one under the rear window heater. i do not think this is the ridge. please instruct me on how to remove the clock. thanks.

You would have to take your dashboard apart. Not a easy task if you do not know what you are doing. Did you check the fuse? Get a small flashlight to keep in your center console.

just pop the clock out using a small screw driverthen look for a small round black button on the backside of clock you should see marks that look likea slot for a screwdriver on the button just turn that button until it comes loose you should see a small bulbconnected to the button, go to the honda place andpurchase a new one.then follow the the directions in reverse. your clock will glow like new. let me know.leroy.
