Default How much of HP gain did I get from my mods on my 05 civic coupe dx?

1. Using K&N filter, removed box, just filter.2. Removed muffler, using Thrush Glasspack and chrome tip.

About 10 HPGetting rid of the muffler on a small engine only makes it loud. Annoys your neighbors. Draws the attention of the police. Very little power gain.Again, on a small engine, you only gain a few horsepower by changing your air filter, regardless of what the manufactures claim. When you decide to get serious about adding some power to your car without spending a lot of money, I suggest adding nitrous oxide. You can get a good dry nitrous system at most on-line auto parts websites from $300 - $500. This will get you anywhere from 50 to 75 more horsepower. Even more if you are willing to risk breaking parts.

More air into the engine will help out on the fuel economy and hp. Most engines are designed to run with the muffler back pressure, so not really sure if you gained anything on the Thrush mufflers. Might have. Good luck. Pops

You actually prop ably lost horsepower . Buy an proper cold air intake system and cat back exhaust . That glass pack may sound cool but it was never designed to give much back pressure. Don't mickey mouse your mods, its usually cheaper in the long run to do it properly.

I agree with Mad Jack and Blazer.I think you got somewhere in the middle of that at most. But I'm guessing more like 3-5 hps since I used to own a Civic DX with a K&N but not the full intake. As for the muffler, all you did was make it louder.
