You HAVE to get the key from the dealership. The key has an engine immobilizer in it, that if not programmed, the key will not start the car. The way to check if you have a chip in your key, turn the key (the one you have now), to acc and you should see a small green key on the dash. This is showing the communication between the key and the immobilizer. It will also say if the car has the immobilizer system on the window sticker. You probably have a copy in your glove box.

You have to go the Honda dealer. If Home Depot can do it, then I didn't have to pay so much for the late model hondas' keys.
