While both of the previous answers are correct, the second one spells it out a bit better. To further expand on the second answer, while the 2.3L does tell the displacement of the engine, the "L" stands for litre. Litre is of course the European measurement. American car manufacturers began adopting the litre designation to state the displacement as opposed to the old cubic inches. This started about 25 or so years ago. To convert litres to cubic inches, mulitply the litres by 61. Actually, it's 61 and a fraction, but using 61 as the multiplier will get you close enough. So with that in mind, a 2.3 litre engine is about 140 cubic inches, give or take. The L in front of the 4 in L4 does refer to an inline engine where the cylinders are all in a row rather than in a V shape as a V6 or a V8. The SFI as already noted by the 2 other answers does denote Sequential Fuel Injection. Has to do with the way that the fuel is delivered to the engine and how the fuel injectors are arranged. And as previously noted, OHC does stand for Over Head Camshaft. This just says that the camshaft is located above the cylinder head rather than in the block as is the case with some inline engines as well as most V type engines. If you like the car and think you are getting a good deal, buy it! Hondas are good vehicles and have good reputations for dependability. If you are a bit in the dark as to the strange jargon used with automotive terminology, a good book that breaks things down in simple terms is AUTO REPAIR FOR DUMMIES. Even if you don't plan to do your own repairs, this book will help you better understand what your mechanic is talking about when you take your car(s) in for repairs.
