Alright I dont know much about cars and was wondering if it was possible to get that engine and put it in a '05 Civic EX. I really dont know like much about this though but feel that I would like increased production from my engine. If that is posssible could you tell me a reliable way to get the engine? The best place is the Auto recycling (aka junk yard) you may be able to find a Honda of the model you are looking for that is totalled. You should be able to find the local auto recyclers in the yellow pages. You should be able to increase the output from your current engine by replacing some components and modifying the ignition timing. You should contact an auto mechanic who does such work. You can also find such informations in Auto magazines. Or search on the web for how to increase output of a Honda engine. The engine block is probably the same between your Honda and the EX.

An ever better engine is the RSX type-s engine, same size, same case, 40 more HP, and as far as I know, easier to find. (many more RSX type-s cars built than the limited edition Si.) I don't know for sure if there is a kit to swap that motor into your EX, but try Skunk2 racing (skunk2racing.com) I know they were at the forefront of modding the new k-series engine when it came out. Hope this helps. -Jeff

you could buy it on the internet at a site like http://www.japandomesticmotor.com/en...hp?EngineID=31 they actually have the k20a2 (the 220hp version) or heres another one http://www.sunrisejdmmotors.com/honda.php the only downside to doing what youre talking about, is that it would be soooooooooo much easier to just buy a used 01 rsx, bc the engine alone is 6,000 dollars. i personally have decided that instead of going with a swap, i just put in a cam and forged pistons and slapped a turbo on it, its not horribly fast, but i can guarantee that i had much less of a headache than you will if you do this.
i have an 02 ex that ive been tr |
