According to the year and make you could have a choke problem.Cars are equipped with an automatic choke and can can get out of adjustment and not startup and run smooth. Sometimes the choker just quits and you have to get a new one. Sometimes it just gets dirty and sticks. Also it could be simple as a cracked vacumn line around your carburator or fuel throttle body or injectors. Look for cracks or breaks.
