I have a 1995 Honda Prelude Si. The timing belt broke and in the process, bent a few valves on the engine. I need a new engine. Is there anything that would be compatible and save me some $$$. Thanks

The Si carries the H23A, which is quite decent. It would be easiest to replace the engine your car came with. The base motor for the 92-96 Ludes was the F22A, which only has SOHC instead of DOHC and considerably less power. Even though these engines are very similar, they may be sold with different transmissions that are not interchangeable, or the belt driven systems might be in different places, causing problems powering the A/C, alternator, power steering etc., and you'll need additional equipment like a new wiring harness for the motor.In summation, keep it simple, stock.

H 22, but if it's only a few bent valves why not fix it or see aleast if it is fixable

Honda motors are like legoes, many parts are interchangable, you could probably get you hands on a used b-series very cheaply.

yeah forget what every one tells you and put a f22 in it its way cheaper and the trannt and every thing will bolt up to it axels and all excpt if you have the h-23.i know i bought a prelude si as well just for the motor cuz i have a accord and just swapped the motors and sold the prelude. but make sure you buy one froma prelude or accord from the years 92' and up.k dont forget this the 90' and 91' are different.
