Default how do you hook up a aftermarket tachometer in a 1998 honda civic dx?

i need to know exactly which wire to hook the tach up to what color if possible

Red or hot wire to the + side of the coil black to ground the other wire presumably white - side of the coil and the light wire to dash lites or light switch

go to and they will have free wireing diagrams , even if its not Auto meter it should give you the info your looking for. good luck.
