Default ref to my 91 honda CIVIC WITH 143000 MILES,,,?

JUST STARTED TO HAVE FLICKERING HEADLITES,,DASH LITES GO FUNKY AND THE CAR SHUTS OFF,,AFTER SITTING FOR ABOUT TWO MINUTES IT WILL RESTART AND ALL IS GOOD FOR AN UNKNOWN PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN,,SOMETIME TWICE DAILY,,ANY HELP IN DIAGANOSING WOULD BE APPRECIATED,,,THANKS

HONDA HAS A TWO PART IGNITION SWITCH.THE CYLINDER PART AND THE ELECTICAL PART ON THE BACK OF THE LOCK CYLINDER.IT MAY BE THE ELECRICAL PART SHORTING OUT......ALSO CHECK YOUR BATTERY CABLES AND CHARGING SYSTEM....GOOD LUCK

The civic is agreat car, but after that long i'd try to sell it; the problems will only get worse.

My best educated guess would be the alternator. I think Auto Zone will check it for FREE. You don't have to buy one from them to get them to check it. Good Luck
