Hmm...let's think about this...when the bar is high, that means you are using more fuel, so ease up on the gas pedal. When the bar is low, that's a good thing because you are maximizing your fuel efficiency. The graph is really only a way to monitor the fuel efficiency, not HOW to make your driving more efficient. For driving wise, no heavy footed fast starts, no heavy fast stops. Check the tires for the right pressure. Nitrogen air filled tires give you more consistent tire pressure whether it's hot or cold. Keep the engine tuned up and do regular maintenance. A cleaner car exterior is more aerodynamic than a dirty car. Don't carry any extra cargo that you don't have to inside the vehicle or in the car. Drive the speed limit.
