Hi
I'm in the market for a new car, though I'm not quite sure which one to get yet! Quite a few options are available out there! For now, I'm eyeing the 2007 Accord and Civic. -What are the differences between a Honda Accord & Honda Civic? Are they similar as far as size, power, reliability, gas mileage & cost? Which do you think is better a 2-door or 4-door?-Also, I heard that the Accord is going to be redesigned for 2008. Is that true? If I do decide on the Accord, should I wait for that model?-Is the Civic going to be redesigned too?-So, with everything considered...Accord or Civic? Thanks so much!!Thank you everyone! You've all been so helpful! ![]() |

I've got an 06 Civic Sedan and I love it. It's a great car, rides nicely, handles well, looks good and gets good (34-36 mpg) mileage. The 06 Civic was the 1st year of the redesign, so this body style will be around a few years. The Accord has been out a while, so a 2008 redesign for it may be true. The Accord is a bigger, nicer and more expensive car. If you need that and can afford it, that's what I'd get. But if you are looking for something more affordable and don't neccesarily need bigger car, the Civic could be for you. Go to the Honda dealer and check them out for yourself.

Well it sounds as if you haven't put in a lot of time researching your vehicle which I would advise you to do. However, with the Accord you will get almost the same gas mileage, more interior room, higher quality components (interior), potentially more horsepower and better resale value (it is a good family car). Bottom line if you can afford the Accord get it.

Honda Accords are larger then the Civics. The Civic is more of a sports car. Both come in 2 or 4 door models and LX, EX, and several other sub-models. The Accord comes in a V-6 or 4-cylinder engine while the Civic only comes in a 4-cylinder engine, but both engines are Vtech. Both cars also come with automatic or 5-speed transmissions. I have a 96 Accord and I love it. If I were to buy another car, I would definitely buy another Honda, no matter what model.

My opinion the civic b/c my dad does a lot of commuting he does 50 miles to work and fifty miles home. the civic gets better gas millage the accord 31 mpg the civic close to 40 mpg , also even if the dealer tries to sell you a 2006 do not take it stick to the 2007 b/c comsumers magizine did a study first year realiability was not very good compared to the second year.

Depends on your needs. The Accord is larger and (especially in the 6-cylinder) more powerful. The civic has a lower sticker price and better gas mileage (by virtue of being smaller). They are both very reliable. The 2/4-door question again depends on your needs and typical usage. If you have or soon plan to have kids, absolutely get the 4-door. From experience I can tell you you do not want to be wrestling a car seat into the back of a 2-door civic.
