i own a repair shop, and you might want to check the air and fuel filter on it,when they get stopped up they make them loose power and use more gas also, i do a lot of regular maintenance on vehicles and most of the problems with cars now days is from neglect, people don't have time to spend on their cars like they used to,,they work so much they just don't have a lot of time to do much else, good luck maybe this will help you.

I would advise of doing a complete tune up.I work on motors for my paychecks, so this would be the place to start for troubleshooting this problem. a complete tune-up consist of il, oil filter, spark plug wires, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, air filter, and it it has been a while, you might want to change you fuel filter, they can get clogged. Also have the timing belt inspected while your at it, if it looks good, then dont replace it.Another good investment is getting some fuel injector cleaner, as well as a can of stuff called "B12" which cleans out everything (fuel rail, fuel filter, fuel injectors, gas tank lines, and if you pour it in the oil, cylinder head, crank, connecting rods, the whole nine yards) You'll notice a difference.
