It is an anti theft feature that may have been activated by a lose of power from the battery. You have to go to the dealer to get the reset code. I don't think it should cost anything.

It's an anti theft feature. I'd guess either it lost power or the battery was disconnected. There should be a default code, or one you set when you got the vehicle. If you dont have the code, you can get it online, search stereo unlock codes for Honda" or call your dealer, they can steer you in the right direction.

yes everyone is correct...but u may not need to go to the dealer...look in your glove box or other compartments for a litle white sticker with a 5 digit number on it..more than likley thats it..or it my have i think an 11 digit serial number...with that u can call a dealer and get your radio code then just punch it in...but if u have done it 3 tiems wrong u will have to unhook the battery cause by then u will have hard locked the radio...

It's a factory stereo and it needs the code to work again. Most times they put a sticker in the owner's manual with the code printed on a sticker. If not, then you have to talk to a honda dealership and they will get you the code. Did ur battery go dead on the car?

Yep, you got the code request because the radio lost power. It's a feature introduced to keep people from stealing radios. If you can't find the number in any of your paperwork, you will have to go to the dealer with the radio's serial number and proof you own the vehicle. While they probably won't charge you to supply the code if you give them the serial number, they certainly will charge you if you have them remove the radio to get the serial number! About $50!I don't have the codes for my wife's mini van... everytime I've changed the battery, I connect a temporary source of 12 VDC to the cables while I am changing the battery. The radio never knows a thing is going on.Good luck!
