ok hopefully someone knows why this is doing this is .I put the car in shop and on a diaonostic for transmission everything checked out ok ,but after a few weeks driving car the sports light came on again and car would not change gears, and runs the battery down when car sits for a couple days. after the car battery goes completly dead and recharged the sport light goes off and the car runs perfectly . could the fact that one side axle needs replaced and this is a saftey feature Im just hoping maybe that might be it.

sounds to me like u need a tcm...trans computer! yes very expensive but pretty easy to diagnose...basically pull up the carpet on the passenger floorboard there u will see 2 computers...the one onthe right is the tcm...take it out of the car and smell it...if it smells like fryed electronics replace it....there quiet common on thoes models for goin bad...as for your axle it will end up leaving u stranded so yes by all means get that fixed

the light turn off because when the battery dies it erases the memory but when you charge the battery and drive again the light will come back on because the problem is still there, have it diagnose when the light is falshing it should show the DTC for the problem , it has nothing to do with the axle but you shoould get that replace
