I am not certian about the 88 Civic, but the main relay on other hondas is called the Mitsuba Relay. It is responsible for the fuel pump and sending power to the ECU(among other things). The 88 Civic might be to old for either of these. Try Honda-tech.comLots of good information on there. Just do a search for your car and Main Relay or Mitsuba Relay.

are you referring to the pgm-fi main? it is gray in color and hard to reach! you will be looking under the driver side dash, above where the fuse box is-it will be approximatly at your left knee height-it has an 8-wire connector plugged in the bottom but 7 wires in the connector...if you have a no-start condition where fuel pressure is a prob, look to it for the answer.the part is $$$$.. so be sure it is the cause since you can't return electrical parts! if you like, contact me at willoroy@yahoo.com and give me more details-if I can I will be happy to assist you in any way i can!! otherwise, good luck.
