Default Do you think it is worth getting a Honda Civic Hy-bird?

I am looking for a new car and I love those new Honda Civic Hy-birds, but the people I ask tell me that they are nice for a while but when they berak down it will cost a fortune to fix becasue they have new parts in it that normal gas cars dont have. Also I wonder with this new technology should it be trusted... I dont want to spend 20K and find out that it is more trubble than it is worth.

I wouldn't do it yet. The initial cost is still high. Battery technology still isn't the best. Batteries don't have a very long service life and are expensive to replace. Other parts not tested and perfected over time. High parts cost due to lower production.Being one of the first to buy any new technology is often a mistake. Prices come down quickly and the product is improved. I paid $80.00 for one of the first AM / FM Walkmans!!!If you've got the $$$... hey why not... Helps get a technology rolling (literally... LOL) that's good for the environment. Warranty service on a new car is pretty good these days. I'm not wealthy enough to go for it myself...

Not yet. Let the techno-geeks buy it and let us see their opinion in five years time.

If you are going to keep the car less than 100,000 miles, don't worry. Everything will be covered under warranty.
