I was thinking about installing some basic modifications to my 1996 Honda Prelude (VTEC). I'll probably stick to the bolt-ons, like a cold air intake, headers and a cat back exhaust.Will my car have a deep throaty sound to it or will it sound like there's a paperclip in my exhaust.And if anyone knows of any sites, that would be really nice.If you have any knowledge of this subject I would really like to hear what you have to say.

Mungen,K&N air filter, Greddy, ATC, Borla exhaust,and Tire Rack for rims and wheels Gotta have custom rims! rice racers and tuners are all over the map. It is better to buy performance parts from the manufacture.

I have a CAI on my integra....it helped alot..and it doesnt sound too badlyintake.header.exhaust are the main things to start withid say go for it!

I did all this s*** to my 95 Accord and then crashed it err man and some places wouldnt pass it during state inspection

Aftermarket performance is good for your car

It all depends on what you want out of your car. If you just want a show car then don't bother spending tons of $$ on performance. if you want performance then buy good parts from reputable companies. Go with something like a AEM V2 CAI (cold air intake), then get an exhaust system (not just the muffler) by Magnaflow, Greddy, Apexi, etc. , then a header. This should cost a little bit of $$ but they are the basics of performance mods. See how you like that and move on from there. You'll get a much better (deeper) tone from your exhaust if you purchase the entire system instead of just a muffler and the CAI and header will help the sound too. Good luck and have fun.

Pros: Lets see *u get the nice sounds and looks out of ur car *and get some respect out of ur collegues*you learn some things about ur car under the hood*and last but not least u get better performance (horsepower, thorttle response etc.)Cons: *Honda made their cars with a lot of things on their minds like gas mileage, realiability, how long the car will last, value etc. and u will be sacrificing some of those if u decide to mod ur car *the second hand value of the car goes down I hope that covers it
