Default Why do you buy foreign cars?

Why do you buy foreign. You know what really pisses me off???? A #1, and "American" driving a foreign car and #2. when they have a support our troops sticker in the window or an American flag. You disgrace me and my country! That's right, by buying foreign, you are killing our economy and losing a true American's job.AMERICAN PRIDE @SSES!well move to Japan then. VW's are awesomeWell i have the money for gas, so it doesn't bother me, even though i conserve it.

foreign (esp. Jpnse) cars tend to be MUCH more reliable than the American counterparts. When it comes down to it, ppl value the reliability more over buying something American made.

well, maybe it's just that people want decent cars and so they buy japanese and german? the american car industry hasan't really developed since 1956, still sticks to gas guzzlers that fall apart if you look at them too hard. when i listen to americans talking about their cars i'm always amazed at what they're ready to put up with regarding reliability. get detroit to build cars that are worth the money and i'm sure no one will buy german or japanese anymore.

First off, do you know how much of your "American car" is foreign made parts and/or the whole damn thing is assembled in Mexico in some cases? Or do you know that there are "foreign" cars built right here in the USA, like Honda and Hyundai and Toyota? Or that Chrysler is now owned by Daimler? Or that Ford owns several "foreign" companies outright, and has controlling interest in more and partial interest in still more? Same with GM. Your jingoistic attitude isn't pride, it's ignorance. My 2000 Toyota Echo (that I bought from a Ford dealer 2nd hand) gets 40mpg. My Suburban gets 13. That's the main reason. More bang for the buck. It's poor management by the US manufacturers that's the problem. The market goes to the point of least resistance.

When you say 'vw's are awesome', do you mean volkswagon? as in German, as in 'you just contradicted your sorry ass!'Im British and our cars are either way too expensive or rubbish.I like US cars but they are'nt too good on petrol consumption, which is important to us.

first of all, honda, toyota, M-B, and VW make their cars here, plus all their parts originate in the US....American car companies(Dodge, Ford, GM) use parts and assemble in mexico, (Dodge Viper, Ford GT, Corvette) so how is it that for american?

I'm a proud American who happens to own two Hondas. You know why? They engineer their cars better than the America made ones. I'm not rich enough to throw my money away on American cars that also have bad gas mileage. It sounds like you have a problem!
