Hey has anyone ever replaced the radiator support on a 2 door civic dx? My little sister rear ended someone causing her support to bend inward. Now she has the problem of her radiator sitting up to high so her hood won't latch and her bumper hangs low causing her head lights to point down. We bought an aftermarket support thats one whole piece. My question is how hard is it to remove the old one and put in a new one. Is there any welding? Is it a job that can be done at home or are we going to have to scrape some money together for a body shop?

I've done a couple so far this week .It's a welded in piece. If you are going to do it yourself, you will need a spot weld cutter (specially ground drill bit or 3/8" hole saw) and a mig welder or resistance welder. You may be able to save a few bucks by having it stripped down & ready for someone to cut off the old piece & weld on the new one. You will have to find a shop willing to do this though. The radiator support isn't a structural piece, but on a honda or most any import, proper alignment ie extremely critical for the rest of the parts to fit correctly.
