Default Honda Prelude Having Trouble Starting?

I own a 1992 Honda Prelude which has trouble starting sometimes. The engine turns every time but when testing the fuel line by the engine no fuel shot out. The car seems to start fine in the mornings, but has a bit of problems starting later in the day (maybe heat?).The car has near 200k miles on it (everything runs strong but the starting problem). Think it may be a clogged filter, or perhaps is it about time to replace the fuel pump? Any advice will help, thanks.

Three things to check, First Fuel pump, Second fuel pump relay, third and a lot of people miss this one, there is a fuel regulator connected to the fuel rail. Its kind of round and it has a vacuum line connected to it. Its up on top of the engine, kind of to your right side of the engine (if you are standing in front of the car) Make sure the vac line is connected. The fuel regulator maintains fuel pressure to the injectors, with out the right pressure you can have this problemCheck all three of these items either one of the three can be intermittent (a sometimes problem) Good luck Dave

your going in the right direction,,i own a repair shop,,and this is exactly where i would began,,assuming that it has been kept in good running condition,,such as the occasional tune up,and oil changes,,these cars are easy to work on,,and when they get a starting problem,,it is usually an easy repair,,if i were you i would try the fuel filter first,,and see if the problem does go away,,if you have been lucky enough to get that many miles from a fuel pump,,you have done real good,,most pumps on the honda,s, give out at around 150.000 miles,,so you have done good,if you don't get it figured out,,maybe i can help later on,,but you are doing the right things to it,,i hope this help,s.

I believe your problem is a fuel pump. A clogged fuel filter would show up more as the engine running sluggish. Easy way to tell, next time it won't start, ask someone to help with this. have somebody sit in the driver's seat and go crawl under the back where the tank is and hit the tank with a hammer while the other person cranks the car. If car starts after a few hits, it's definately your fuel pump.
