Because they know it makes you feel uncool, and they're out to get you.

haha....I have one too and I think it is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I just read the below article a couple months ago and found out the average age of someone that owns one is 41. They are coming out with a sportier version (SC) in 2007. I have seen some editorials from older people that drive it, and most of them say they like it because it gives them the feel of a luxury car (wide open cabin) and it is so easy to get in and out of.

It's all a plot by Ford to get Crown Victorias in the hands of anyone under 60. Think of it... legions of old ladies buying the cars everyone THOUGHT was cool; so where do the cool seekers go? Yup... Crown Vics, Ford 500s and maybe the odd Toyota Avalon.

Probably because people buy vehicles they like and that they feel suit their needs. The Honda Element could have many advantages for both women and people who are older. Actually I don't see the Element as a young persons car. Maybe your question should have been "Why am I driving a Honda Element?"
