Default Will upgrading the exhaust and/or intake on a very high mileage Accord hurt the car more than help?

I have a 1989 Honda Accord lxi with over 200k miles, and was wondering if puting on an aftermarket intake or exhaust (not a racing super high performance) would decrease the life of my car. Right now it runs strong and has never failed me, but "if it ain't broke dont fix it". Let me know what you think. Thanks.

That's right: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I used to mess with my cars when they didn't need it, and only caused myself grief.

Change all fluids and filters once you put new products on an old vehicle it damages more and cost more. It actually doesn't matter how many miles it has until it quits the key to maintenance is changing out fluids to clear the engine and purify performance. I am a women but when I messed with my 76 Camero like that , It exploded and now I am searching for another classic. If you want to change something ---get it painted

Go for it Dude. As long as you klnow what your are doing, more Oxygen = better mileage and mor HP. While it won't make your car last longer, it will make it perforn better. Add a cold air intake as well on the cheap...buy from Ebay
