find out how many gallons the car holds, then fill the tank, record the mileage at fill up, drive close to empty, record the mileage again, then take difference at full from empty, then divide the answer by how many gallons the tank holds, that should give you miles per gallon.

Is it yours? If so, you take down how many miles are on it when you fill it up. The next time you fill it up, write down how many gallons you put in it, and how many miles are on it at that point. You have to make sure you fill it up, though. Find out what the difference is in mileage. If you put 5 gallons in it, and you put 75 miles on it, then its 75 divided by 5, or 15 miles per gallon.

To find the MPG for any car, fill up the gas tank and write down the miles. Drive it till it's down to just below a quarter tank. Fill it up again and write down your miles and how much gas you put in the second time. Subtract miles to see how many you drove and then divide by how many gallons you put in. To get a more accurate result do this three or four times in a row.

Heres the best way to do it. Fill you tank up. Reset your odometer. Drive, fill tank again. Write down mileage on odometer and gallons that go in. Do this 3 times and take the average. For Example: Say your first tank gets 400 miles, and u fill it up with 10 gallons. Next tank is 380 and 9 gallons. Third tank is 420 and 11 gallons. Add all the miles = 1100. Add all gallons = 30. Divide miles by gallons 1200/30 so you got 40 mpg. Also try not to run your tank dry. It can make the car run funny and eventually damage the engine.Good Luck
