most likely your fast idle sensor is defected

what series motor is it? is it a b16, a d16, or a d15? might be your map sensor on top of the throttle body. i had a d15b7 w/ the vtec swap and that was my prob, it idled at 1700, got the new throttle body from a junk yard with the map sensor on it for $30 and back down to 800 rpm normal idle. http://www.myspace.com/soberobest pics of my integra and turbo j-body

Re: I have a 97' civic and i cant get the idle to come down to where its supposed to be. HELP!!!!?
try adjusting the idle screw its easy to find and only need a flathead screwdriver to adjust it....
i did and now my idle is perfection
