Look at ratings. Try www.edmunds.com2006 Honda Civic StylesMSRP Price Range: $14,560 - $24,440 Consumer rating: 9.3(no Editor rating)EPA Mileage Estimates: 30 mpg 2006 Toyota Corolla StylesMSRP Price Range: $14,105 - $17,880Editor rating: 8.0Consumer rating: 9.0EPA Mileage Estimates: 32 mpg These two cars are NOT in the same class. The Corolla is a 4 door, and the Civic is a 2 door. You better check these out at your nearby dealer.I own a Toyota Matrix.... It is truly the best car that I ever owned. But I never owned a Honda.

They are both GREAT cars and will last forever..... in my opinion, it comes down to styling preference. I like the Civics because they look better (to me) and there are a lot more aftermarket parts for the civic than the corolla. You'd be making a good choice either way though....

They are both well built cars that will be cheap on gas, cheap on repairs, and will have a "new" or "tight" feeling well past the 100k mile mark. They both have excellent resale value. In terms of money, they will cost about the same over the long haul. In other words, you really can't go wrong when you are looking at it objectively. However there may be a reason or two to pick one over the other. Ask yourself: - Which one do I like the styling of the best? - Which one can I see myself in? - Which one do I like to drive the best? If you are still at an impass, then were you treated any differently at one store or the other? Do you feel more comfortable with one salesman or another? If you STILL can't pick a clear winner, then flip a frickin coin ;-) You really can't go wrong if you've gone this far and still can't figure out which is better for you. BTW, I sell Toyotas....and if it were me, and I HAD to have a 4-door, I'd probably go with the Civic. It's just a lot cooler to me in MO. However, I would rather my Mom be in the Corolla. It's a little easier to get in and out of being a bit higher. Or I would wait to see what they have in store for 2007. Toyota will be releasing a brand new Corolla then....If you can wait. If you don't HAVE to have a 4-door, check out the Scion tC. It's built by Toyota, has the Camry motor, and comes standard with a butt load of stuff, including SunRoof....for Less than 18k!
