Start by spelling it "brakes" and not "breaks". Then take it to a mechanic. If they're smoking then the pads are probably gone and if he didn't know enough to stop driving it when they started smoking then he shouldn't try to fix them himself.

First, if you have a lot of breaks, you might need a welder to fix them.If you are talking about the things that stop your car when it's rolling, that's spelled b-r-a-k-e-s. Brakes. As in brake=to stop.BrEAk = smash, shatter, crush, rip, tear.
