...these cars? I am looking to purchase a Honda Civic or Accord, one that I found had 228xxx miles on it, how much longer do they last? Also, what are common problems and issues with Hondas? Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I bought a 2001 accord brand new, and have not had any problems with it at all, I only have 89,000 miles but so far so good

Honda is great car, but 228k. Ouch

Any car, properly maintained, can run for millions of miles. Parts of the engine, if not the entire engine will need to be replaced eventually. The car you are looking at could die tomorrow for all we know. I'd say if they made it to 228k miles, they've maintained it well, but you'll have to continue maintaining it as well to make it keep going.

depends on how u use the car. stupidly or drive it right. it also depends if the transmission has been changed. hondas last a while. common problems also depend on how u treat the car. how much they charging u?

3-400,000 miles..or more, depending on how they were maintaned. No issues..great cars.

I would go to epinions.com and look for reviews on the Honda Civic. It's an excellent review site for all kinds of products. It's a bit like Yahoo Answers - people get rewards for good reviews and being known as good reviewers.

My son had an '85 Accord with 220K on it when he wrecked it!

You could be in for some major repairs with that many miles. I would look for one that is around 100,000 and with good maintenance, Hondas can seem to last forever.

I have a freakin''92 Civic and it's running strong! I've had almost no problems with it in 13 years. I've had to pump very little $ into, too! I think they're some of the best cars ever made, super reliable, and supposedly, you can expect to get lots of miles from 'em! They're pretty small, but I'm well-endowed, so I'm fine with that! They ain't the sexiest things in the world, but I look good, so my car doesn't have to!
