My 16 year old crashed the 94 honda del sol that I bought him six months ago. The hood is damaged, the radiator is bent, but the doors, top, windshield looks fine. It still runs but is not leaking fluid. The body shop said it would take $5000.00 to get it fixed. I only paid 2500.00 for the car. How can I sell it for the most money? Where should I advertise?

I would say eBay....you can have people bid on it and if you don't like the highest bid you can place it in there again to be auctioned for a higher price....try the penny saver too.....a lot of people like cars to fix up or even to be used as a parts car....good luck!

Bummer that he crashed that car, it would have been a very reliable vehicle for anyone to drive, although, not all that safe for a new driver. Lucky he didn't get hurt. You may be able to go to a salvage yard, and get yourself another hood, and radiator, they aren't that difficult to install. The civic of that year has that same sized radiator and hood, so you can pull them from there. If you do not want to fix it, try putting an ad in your local newspaper, you may just find an enthusiast that knows what those cars are worth, and can repair them, and would probably give you a nice chunk of what you payed for it.

Don't sell it on ebay as a whole car. Check the prices for individual parts like a door, fender, etc. Possibly sell the individual parts on ebay. Often, people will come pick these up rather than pay for shipping. Also, call a salvage yard. They are usually able to sell the parts for the highest price, and may be willing to pay you more than you can make on ebay.Ebay (whole car): $100-$200Ebay (parts): $200-$700Salvage: $200-$300

If you feel like repairing it, buying afteermarket parts (I say this because I think that he might like to go really fast) would save some money and look nicer. You could make him pay for half of the repair. If you want it to look nice but don't want to buy upgrades for the engine, you could always just go with a full body kit, carbon fiber hood, and a nice set of rims/tires. You could also go to a junk yard to buy used parts ( the Del-Sol and CRX have basically the same parts as a civic) and install them. A civic won't be hard to find. If you must sell it, go for auto trader and see if any young racers want to buy it to work on. I would buy it if it still runs and the only engine problem is the radiator. If you live in or near Ohio email me a price and I'll see if I want to buy it.

if you are looking to sell it you should try the auto trader or the recycler. you should find out what kind of mods if any, have been made to the car by your son. you wont get that much for it. I'm looking about 900-$1500.00. those seats in Del-sol's have nice racing style seats you might be able to get at least $500.00 for the pair
