Personally, I think you made a good decision with the Element. We have a CR-V and Isuzu Rodeo. The CR-V is so much nicer to be in than the Rodeo.Try this: www.jcwhitney.comI saw a kit in their paper catalog ( a few years ago ) to install an additional bench seat in the back of wagons and SUV's. Not sure if it is still available, not sure what's involved in setting it up. Don't know if you will need to cut or drill holes in the vehicle.You may need to call them to ask if it is still available. Their website is not the easiest one to use. It does not have all of their products listed on it.

For your child. They sell these little Dora the Explora folding deck seats at Toy R Us for like $29.99 for a set of two and a table. Get that, put it in the rear cargo area and you're set.Not much for safety, but $30, can't beat that...
