It depends on what engine was in there originally. If you had a D series motor, then the mounts will be all wrong for a B series, you're gonna have to use a whole other tranny if you're wanting to swap a b series engine into your hatch. You're better off sticking w/finding either a b16a 2 or 3, d16z6 or b18c5- all of these are direct swaps that won't require you to change out mounts. Also, if you're looking for a little more power, all your B-series motors are DOHC. (duel over head cams) You can usually find these engines in 92-96 Civic EX's & Si's. They all have VTEC as well.Best of luck!

most hondas are powered by hamsters. if you do a bigger wheel or add more hamsters you may see an improvement. alot of people do a guinea pig swap for more torque.

if u are lookin to go fast down the track get a b16b (jdm) and a gsr tranny but the answer to ur question if it is an si hatch it is a single cam motor and a b series will not bolt up to a d series tranny and the same way around
