my honda SIR car wont start last day becoz of no electricity running on my distributor. we already replaced the distributor but we use a honda accord distributor type, and the engine still wont start and we suspected that it is a my computer box that was damaged.we replaced the computer box but it is not for honda sir.we start the engine and it runs!!after that I notice that my Rev limit decreased to 7000rpm instead of 8000rpm.will ther be a change in my speed if i replace my damaged computerbox (b16A engine) by ordinary computer box?im afraid that the VTEC gone?!Pls help!

It's not going to work. First off, it's not called a computer box, it's called an ECU- engine control unit.2nd, it's a b16a, an engine commonly placed in Civic type Honda's, NOT Accords. You need to track down the correct distributor cap & you need to stick w/the original ECU. The reason it won't start is because you have the wrong distributor. Also, have you checked your timing? You have to use b series parts for your car. Honda parts aren't inter-mixable, sorry, dude. They're not like GM or Ford parts, LOL. Your Accord ECU will not even run your car, it's not compatible w/your b16 because it's an ECU for a whole other engine series & so is programmed differently. So here's what you need to do, put on another b series distributor, keep your original ECU. Chances are your problem is your ignitor. You need to get a new ignitor pack.
