Default civic lacking high-end power?

backfires at 6k when the old motot went to 7.5k

You obviously blew up the old motor. Stop racing your Civic. It's a 4 cylinder car and not meant to be "fast." Work hard, save money, buy a better suited car, and DO NOT steet race (EVER!)
