Default Is $380./month for 72 months expensive on a brand new 05 Honda Civic EX Special Edition?

If i had a trade in worth 13000, and they added 5000 to the total of the Civicthe 5000 was for being upside down in the truck payments or worthThe intrest rate is 6.6%

With an interst rate at 6.6% over 6 years you'll be paying a few thousand dollars in interest costs. And it's an 05?

If you already went up-side down on a car, I would caution you to explore an older version of the Civic..Civic is GREAT, but 72 months is a long time... do you want to try to trade-in in three years and still owe $10,000 on a car then worth $5000? A very serviceable a 1999-2000 Civic with 80,000 miles can be had for about $10,000 in excellent condition and will last you many years - you would only need to finance $15,000 which you could do in 48 months at $352!!Check vehicle values at a link below:

It is high. you are basically paying about $22.5K for a car that although new is a previous model year and there was a model change over this year (2006), so depreciation is slightly higher. your rate is good, and given that you are upside down at 5k. I would think financing 21k to 21.5k would be more reasonable, and give you a lower payment.

I believe paying $380 a month is overly expensive, sinec I pay the same amount, well $5 additional dollars for an 05 Accord EX - V6 with all the buttons and whistles. I would advise to get on Edmunds.com and have their site contact all the local Honda dealers within your area. I recommend using Edmunds because when they contact local dealers, each dealers' Internet Sales Specialist will contact you offering the absolute lowest price for the vehicle selected. Using the internet as a tool, enables you to save time and obtain the lowest price - since dealers are luring you via online.Good Luck,Why pay that much for 6 years when you can have an Accord with more luxuries, voice automation controls on the Nav. Climate controls, and XM Radio. Also, attempt to finance through your Credit Union.Good Luck

72 Months at 6.6% paying 380 is $22,541.79 for your loan. Back off the $5000 you are upside down in the truck and you are paying $17,500 for a Honda EX Special which last year new would have cost $22-23,000. It's a deal. The 05's pricing did take a nosedive when the 06 came out and won every major car award in it's class, but it's a deal. Here is a scenario to make you feel better:Gas is $3/gallon. If you are driving a truck, you are probably getting in the neighborhood of 20-24 miles per gallon at best. Seeing a 50% boost in fuel efficiency could get your $5000 back.Truck: 20 gallons per week at $2.75/gallon and 24 MPG is 480 miles per week at $.1145 per mile.Honda: Will need 13 gallons of gas to cover the same driving pattern of 480 miles at 2.75/gallon. You save 7 gallons of gas per week or 28 per month at 2.75 is $77/month.If you were paying $77/month on a loan at 6.6% the total paid in 72 months would be $4800 You already have your $5000 back at the end of the loan.As for comments about resale, assuming you drive the Honda 480 miles per week for 72 months, you will have 150,000 miles on it when paid off. Check out 5 year old Honda Civics with 150,000 miles - KBB Trade In value with only good not excellent condition on a 2001 EX with 150,000 miles and only manual trans is $5500, retail is $9000.What are you waiting for?? Go now and do it!
