How much horsepower does the new 2006 Honda Civic Si have ?

it has 197 horsepower @ the engine and 173 at the wheels

It has a max. hp of 197, but it is at a ridiculously high rpm> it won't always be fun to rev the car that high, especially in daytime traffic. On the track...maybe.

197 onthe fly wheel.. the 8000rpm reline is nice.. first and second gear are long ones.. should be at 57mph comming out of second gear. very responsive engine but uphill acceleraion is no bueno.. they did a great job on this civic i think.

i know for the civic hybrid it produces a healthy 140bhp

190hp, it's a mid-high 15 sec car, pretty pitiful for a so called "performance" model.
