Try checking out the reviews at http://www.cars.com. They may have the ratings for the 2006 civic from JD Powertrends and Associates, rating the complaint factor for the Civic. However, considering how long the civic has been around and that Honda actually does listen to it's customers when they complain, it's likely to be a decent car.

Any Honda car is a great buy. I own a 99 Accord an I love that thing!! I would have bought a civic, but I needed the extra room for the kids. If I were you, I would seriously look at the hybrid Civic.... especially if you are driving 160 a day. They may not have any in stock and you might have to wait. But both the hybrid and non-hybrid versions are spectacular, dependable, long lasting, comfortable, cheap (relatively), and if you are into customizing... there are endless custom parts and accessories for civics...
