i heard that almost every single transmission on honda accord ex 6th and 7th gen. fails. is that
right? on my 1999 accord ex the p d4 gear light is blinking, and i'm scared it may be transmission that just went bad, and i heard it cost like 5,000 to fix it. so if you know anything about it please help me.

PPPPppplllleeeaaasseee! Don't JINX me! But my Accord (the 2nd I've owned) is an AWESOME car and I am really happy with it. NO PROBLEMS!

I also have a 99 accord,how many miles on yours? Usually if its slipping the computer cant tell you that info. Check the fluid. Is it red or BLACK! Make sure it has enough oil.also Have a tranny flush once a year or at least change the oil every 15,000 miles.Honda makes great stuff!Transmissions go bad because of poor maintenance.My tranny slipped a few months ago. I replaced it with a 5 Speed!!!

No your transmission wont fail. Its an electrical fault behind your gauges. The light is just shorting out and needs its wire put back in. Nothing to do with your transmission, so relax.

yes honda has problems with there transmisson but go to your honda dealer and they should do a goodwill claim for you and they will either pay for it all or pay for half. honda understands they have a problem with there transmissions and are willing to help out there customer to keep them around. so i would try that first, trust me it works!
