...just mine? Its so noisy that I always feel like the window is open but its not. just want to know if mine has some issues or its a known issue with all CRVs 2001 or older. Thanks for your time!

go to AAA.com and describe the noise. They have a very basic grid-like questionaire to do a quick diagnosis and/or teach you how to describe the "noise" in the best way to the mechanic for a diagnosis.Consumer reports also has reports on previous owner comments and test-driver comments on differnt auto models- it might be inherent in that vehicle.Bottom line- take it to a couple respectable auto shops, describe the "noise" and any handling characteristics associated with it and get some estimates for repairs if at all needed on your Honda. Better safe than sorry.

The 2001 and older CR-Vs are well-known for wind and road noise. Recent models are much better - even the boxy Element is quieter than early CR-Vs.It's a good vehicle - just noisy.

READ THIS!!!!!! Honda should have sent you something, but in case they didn't, be carefull when you get your oil changed. The CRV's have 2 seals and most cars don't, so when a typical mechanic changes your oil, he may not put both of them back. This causes fires because the oil drips onto the engine, and many incidences have been reported. Be carefull, if you don't do your own oil change!!!

ALMOST ALL HONDAS ARE NOISY ON THE HIGHWAY. MY MOM HAD A 97 AND NOW HAS A 2002. THEY ARE BOTH NOISY!

yes...it's mainly from a lack of sound insulation. The tire tread pattern might also have a little to do with it. Agressive winter tired will make a lot of noise. Hondas, while excellent vehicles use a minimal amount of insulation.
