what i would say it to get rid of the honda and get an american car but if you dont want to do that, first find out how big ur current engine is then look at how much extra room u have, probly not much, then put a chevy small block in it with edlebrock headers. that the best answer i can give you

you cant just go and "place" a different engine type in your honda. work with what you have, unless you want to pull all of your hair out

You can install the honda prelude engine it works and fit well , but you may have to deal with emissions problems because of the computer programing.

B18C1B16A2B18B1B17AB18C5 (Type-R)H22A (Prelude)these are the basic engines that will fit your civic i have a sixth generation civic as for you have a fifth generation. It's just about the same but remember you can swap any engine as long you pay the money for it... But how far are you willing to go! The best site is the bottom one by the way

To BEST answer this question, check out Hasport, web http://www.hasport.com/ they engineer motor mounts for doing engine swaps. you can see the mounts that they make for your car. They are costly but help out big time. Honestly with the money, you can get any honda motor in there.. but hasport makes it easy by giving you mounts that will allow it to bolt in. You might need to do some extra wiring.. so be prepared.

Pretty much any B series engine (B16) , but make sure that you don't get screwed when it comes to smog and registration.
